Tara Thompson, FNP-BC
I was raised in the rural area of Brandenburg, Kentucky and moved to Louisville, Kentucky after completing high school. I enrolled at the University of Louisville, pursuing a career in the medical field. My family and I moved to Arizona in 2005, and I completed my education in Arizona while raising a family. I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon Universityand then worked in various emergency rooms in the East Valley as a registered nurse starting in 2007 and as also an ER manager.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the emergency room, which allowed the experience of working in a level III trauma center which was also a cardiac receiving center and certified primary stroke center.
In 2017, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with my Master’s in Nursing and with a nurse practitioner degree, becoming board certified in October 2017. I worked in family practice for much of my nurse practitioner career and for the
last year has been providing wound care along with stem cell placement for chronic wounds.
I am a devoted Christian and have been married 22 years. My husband and I have four children and three grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family more than anything and enjoy my time with my horses. I strive to make patients feel comfortable and stress the importance of educating my patients regarding their disease process.
“Helping others has always been my main focus and it is something I attempt to continue in everyday life as well.”
